a time for everything

Ecclesiastes 3:1-13:

"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

a time to be BORN and a time to DIE,
a time to PLANT and a time to UPROOT,
a time to KILL and time to HEAL,
a time to TEAR DOWN and a time to BUILD,
a time to WEEP and a time to LAUGH,
a time to MOURN and a time to DANCE,
a time to SCATTER STONES and a time to GATHER THEM,
a time to EMBRACE and a time to REFRAIN,
a time to SEARCH and a time to GIVE UP,
a time to KEEP and a time to THROW AWAY,
a time to TEAR and a time to MEND,
a time to BE SILENT and a time to SPEAK,
a time to LOVE and a time to HATE,
a time for WAR and a time for PEACE.

What does the worker gain from his toil? I have seen the burden God has laid on men. He as made EVERYTHING beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end."

I am in the middle of several 'times' but as I read through this passage yesterday I realized something so much cooler; I know someone who is personally going through one or more of the 'times' listed above. This allowed me to 'fill in the blanks' with friends and family who are in a time of need or celebration. It looked something like this:

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

a time for Courtney and a time for Todd,
a time for Ellen and a time for Shannon,
a time for Ryan and time for Anna,
a time for Jennifer and a time for James,
a time for Sarah and a time for Laura,
a time for Brooke and a time for Kala,
a time for Jeremy and a time for Andrew,
a time for Brandi and a time for Caroline,
a time for Douglas and a time for Paige,
a time for Kristen and a time for Savannah,
a time for Lauren and a time for Kelly,
a time for Pamela and a time for John,
a time for Abby and a time for Emily,
a time for Cass and a time for Justin.

This is such a cool way to remember your friends and their needs. If you would like to be one of my 'times' please let me know; I would be so happy to pray for you.
